michael kors says he loves designing pre fall collections because it's the season of clothing that girls want to wear all year long - ain't that the truth. that moment when the air gets crisp and you're finally allowed to wear more than one layer of clothing - it's a beautiful thing. kors clearly gets the beauty of layering, but he's also able to design pieces that stand on their own. i still can't get over his dyed furs. LOVE them.

elie tahari is clearly looking to bring a younger clientele into his demographic while still remaining true to his core customers. such is evident in his pre fall collection, which, while pretty and very work suitable, isn't all that amazing. i like it. i don't love it. thoughts?

okay. apparently, DVF goes to glastonbury - who knew? that's probably where she got the inspiration for her AMAZING pre fall '10 collection, pictured below. see it in full here. you must, i repeat, must, see it in full. from oversized cardigans to sparkling sequin shorts; soon to be it bags to cozy three quarter sleeved coats, this is a collection that makes me feel all warm and fashionably mushy inside.

will i get shot if i say i don't love chanel pre fall?

i know everyone loves karl lagerfeld - but i am not loving chanel's pre fall 10 collection. not sure why - i sense a bit of asian influence, but i'm not feeling those hats (even if they were in shanghai) nor most of the clothes. am i missing something?

i do like the looks below, somewhat. but i'm not wowed.

i have to say, as much as i admire francisco costa's work for calvin klein, it often feels unwearable to me. certainly, the pieces below stand out - they're beautiful - but most of it looks like it would look good on a model and a model only.
