baby jane
can we just talk about how far superblogger jane aldridge has come? i spoke with jane briefly when i was setting up her stylelikeu shoot in texas, and she was a doll to work with. she's kind, smart and of course, effortlessly creative. YAY JANE!
hotpink
wait a second, is this shoe real? is this a dream? TO DIE FOR AMAZING.

hi my jacket is on acid
OBSESSED with this dressing gown cape-ish jacket of a thing. MUST OWN. MUST MUST MUST. as in, hello, my jacket and i are on acid, can't you tell?
sidenote: i already own one dressing gown, a lace vintage one that garners some seriously odd looks when i wear it. i adore it, but people think it's weird that i'm wearing "super long lingerie" out and about in the world. come on, people. this is NEW YORK. anywho, i'm thinking this baby mighhhttt just be acceptable for the office. thank god i work in a creative company.

pink is my favorite color
richard mosse's photos of his time in the congo are incredible, to say the very least. you need to see them.
they made me think of pink interiors. i always think that pink can't work in a home - but then i see shots like these, and wonder if maybe, if done right, hot pink could be absolutely to die for amazing.

chanel vs butter
i'm obsessed with butter london's nail colors - they're literally all i wear (right now i'm wearing yummy mummy, a gorgeous beige that flatters every skin shade out there and has been sold out on the butter london site for months - snagged it at ricky's in soho the other day) - but the new chanel colors.. DIE rachel zoe style. i'm thinking the "steel" might be too similar to my butter london "chimney sweep" - but the "strong" is just too good to pass up. especially since they'll premier at the soho chanel in a week or so...and i work three blocks away...

coco for W
from 2006, courtesy fashiongonerogue. i love coco. sister is drop dead gorgeous (like otherworldly, really), but she also seems totally normal and hilarious. i'd love to have her as my best friend, since being her is clearly out of the question.
rzp
i watch rachel zoe project religiously - and i realized i never posted my favorite shot from the LOVE shoot she recently styled. for all of her ridiculousness, zoe is actually quite a talented stylist.
jo calderone
or as we usually know her, lady gaga. earlier this summer, photos surfaced of a "jo calderone" shooting for vogue homme japan thanks to nicola formichetti's twitter. now, we've got the official cover. gaga as a man...not too shabby.

charge me with neglect
i've been neglecting my blog, big time. but i'm back with a new template and armed with some serious creativity flowing my veins. please excuse my absence - i started a new job, fashion week is coming...okay, no excuses. i'm here and i don't plan on disappearing again.

the brass petal
emily henderson, who i have been rooting for since episode 1, won this season of HGTV's design star on sunday night. i may or may not have cried, because, well - i cry over everything. let's face it. that AT&T commercial that goes backwards in time to the moment that guy on the train platform realizes that girl inside the train is his one true love and thanks to his AT&T smartphone, changes his ticket and they all live happily every after - that commercial makes me tear up. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
but anyway, back to emily. sister is kick ass. her new show, which will debut next week via a one hour long special and then legitimately debut later on this year, focuses on the idea that you can take someone's wardrobe and style their home accordingly. i am big on this philosophy - i like to think that upon entering my apartment, you can see how i dress. for example, the metallic pillows on my couch mean that i love things that sparkle. the large white shag rug means i love the seventies. the candles everywhere, coupled with the deep colors? i love me some bohemian rhapsody, both sartorially and musically.
anywho, above is the living room emily designed for her second to last challenge. it was her penultimate design (god i love that word), and it is FABULOUS. i wouldn't want to live there - but emily, who loves vintage clothing - would. what i love most about emily as a designer is that she makes all of her rooms feel full. not cluttered, mind you - there's a big difference between full and cluttered. but emily understands how to make an interior feel not just livable, but lived in. she creates the rooms we all dream of showing off, the kind where you get to say things like, "oh this old thing? i picked it up in bali a few weeks back?" and "that chair? it was grandma ruth's - i just threw a coat of white lacquer on it."
do you love emily as much as i do? you can keep up with her via her hilarious and inspiring blog, the brass petal.
